How it is made

From ocean waste to beach towel

Every Destination Label beach towel is woven from rPET, a premium recycled polyester yarn. A small act of reuse, printed with the places worth protecting.

Step 01

Recycled polyester

Recycled materials are collected, cleaned and respun into soft, durable yarn.

Step 02

Spun into RPET yarn

Shredded flakes are melted and extruded into a fine, soft yarn, lighter and quicker drying than cotton.

Step 03

Woven waffle weave

Woven into our signature fine waffle weave, printed with the photograph, and finished with the GPS coordinates.

Your questions, answered

Does the sand really not stick?

Traditional towels have looped fibres where sand gets trapped and stays. Our fine waffle weave is loop free, so sand has nothing to grip onto. One shake and it is gone. The waffle structure also creates more surface area than a flat weave, which means more absorption and faster drying than cotton.

How do I wash it?

Cold machine wash with similar colours. Line dry or tumble low. No bleach, no fabric softener. Colours stay true wash after wash.

What size are they?

160cm long by 80cm wide. Big enough for two to share, light enough to carry all day. Weighs approximately 500g including the backpack.
